About six months after my fibula surgery, I went for my last follow up. They did another x-ray and said everything was fine. The next day my leg started swelling and became very painful. I called to make an appointment and they told me it would be 30 days. I left a message to have someone call me and no one ever did. Turns out x-rays can cause skin infections. I would never use Dr. Hicks again for anything.
I went to see Dr. Hicks for my shoulder. This was a work comp case and he treated it just like you would think. He did not care for me as a patient. He just wanted to send me on my way and not do anything for me when I had an obvious labral tear. Every time I would ask a question he gave very vague answers. It got to the point where he got my work comp case closed and now I am having to go through the hoops to try get it reopened. Highly recommend avoiding him for anything, especially work comp injuries.
I believe Dr Hicks is an excellent surgeon however the staff of this office is very poor at returning phone calls. I would give them a -1 star.
Dr. Hicks surgically repaired my broken ankle. He provided excellent care, sound advice, and left me with a good outcome. I highly recommend him as a physician & surgeon.
Impersonal, arrogant and does not seem to care about the individual. More like an assembly line of orthopedic surgery. Does not listen to anyone but himself.
Sorry to say I never got in to see Dr Hicks, after 3 referrals over a year's span I was finally given an appt with the NP. I drove 70 miles, was in front of the building 13 minutes prior to appt time and I was called by the office and appt was canceled. The NP was going to be in a meeting later than expected. Are you kidding? I did not reschedule, I'll find someone who cares about their patient.
Very impersonal, takes the path of the workman's comp verses looking out for the best interest of the patient. Following the money...it's a shame cause it seems that he is a good doctor if and when he wants to be. Choose to cut me but not to repair my shoulder, too much work involved...I am 45, young, active, and a fighter...same age he is...wonder if the shoe was on the other foot...no empathy doc... R.Bass
HAD TOTAL LEFT KNEE . GREAT EXPERIENCE. BETTER MOVEMENT NOW THAN BEFORE SURGERY ! ERIN MAGNFICENT ! OFFICE GREAT 1. NO COMPLAINTS . AGAIN A BIG THANKS TO THE STAFF !
Based on my experience, Dr. Hicks is very knowledgeable at diagnosing the problem and explaining the options for treatment. He also is an excellent surgeon; he performed my ACL and meniscus procedures. Not only is he highly competent, he was very patient listening to my questions and concerns as well as thorough in answering them. When I injured my other knee recently, I returned to Dr. Hicks and received the same excellent treatment and care from him (and his nurse) again.
