I was new to Sioux Falls and looking for a Local Trucking job, so I was surprised that Heyl only offered me $20 an hour considering I have the following resume: CDL A PTX (No Restrictions on CDL), HazMat, TWIC, US passport, Clean MVR for over 25 years, and No Criminal Record ever. Experience includes Manual Transmissions, OTR, Refrigerated, Mountains, Snow Chains, Intermodal, Ports, Bulk, Hopper Bottoms and various e-Logs. I figured since Heyl is the largest trucking company in South Dakota that they would be a good new star... read more
This semi and the one in front of it, we’re cutting people off on the interstate going towards Sioux Falls, South Dakota just now. Unsafe.
OTR was okay but I would recommend you stay away from midwest regional home weekly runs here. They regularly take full advantage of 14hr shift pausing when you're being loaded or unloaded for 2hrs or more leaving you with 16-18hr shifts and they flip your sleep upside down to run overnights and back to day driving at random. Shift pausing was supposed to be a tool to help you stay legal, but here it's a work requirement to make your load appointments or you'll be sitting for 24hrs without pay.
Very unprofessional group of people, especially TJ Tapper - horrible to work with.
Heyl Truck Lines has a 3.3 star rating with 28 reviews.
Heyl Truck Lines is closed now. It will open tomorrow at 9:00 a.m.
