Returned the car the night before the expired return time due the next morning. Left the key in their drop box. Surprisingly, after two weeks received a 45$ charge for a 1 hour late return!! Even after sending the requested info as mentioned by Hertz (below), never received an answer.

The car I reserved wasn't available less than an hour before they closed. I was forced to pay for an "upgrade" in order to ensure I had a car since there was no guarantee the previous customer was going to return their car on time. I'm ok with accepting a car I didn't reserve. I'm not ok being forced to pay an upgrade fee due to the company's lack of inventory. I'll likely look to another option like Turo next time I rent a car. I encourage you to do the same.

The Hertz in the Marina del Rey Marriott was supposed to be open at 9:00 on Saturday, but the opening person no-showed. I arrived at 9:30 and was the 5th person in line. There was a line about 7 or 8 people long by the time an employee from another area finally arrived a little after 10:00. He was kind to come in and did a great job under the circumstances. He was friendly, apologetic, and warned us that he didn't know what shape the cars were in. I would give him 5 stars. He is the only reason I am not posting as a 1 star. ... read more

Extremely disappointing experience – avoid this location. We rented two vehicles from the Hertz Marina del Rey Marriott branch as part of a group. What should have been a simple, smooth process turned into a frustrating ordeal: billing errors, duplicate charges, poor communication, and a complete lack of follow-up from the local staff.
