I recently had a disappointing experience with Hertz rental vehicle in Midtown. I was given a Nissan Rogue that had only half a tank of gas, and the interior was not properly cleaned. To make matters worse, there was no washer fluid in the vehicle, the tire pressure was wildly different in each tire, and the back speakers didn’t work at all. I was told to bring my car rental in the next day after it was due with no extra charge because of the icy conditions at that time and I was 50 miles away so I took it in the next Day. I put more gas in the tank than even was in it. When I rented it and they still charged me for a tank of gas. Absolute worst car rental experience. Booked a car for a week rental. We were to pick the car up at 4:00 pm so we arrived at rental office at 3:50 pm and the place was closed! Sign on door said their "Temporary hours" were closing at 4:00 pm. So why even have a 4:00 pm pickup? We knocked on the door and eventually a manager... I guess... came out and said "Sorry, the computers were already turned off for the day". No offer to help get another car at different location, no help whatsoever. Just sorry, tough outa luck. Got in a car accident and made the mistake of coming here for a rental. The staff was beyond rude the entire time, acting like they were doing me a favor just by being there. It took a ridiculous hour and a half just to get the car on the first day. Then, thanks to their incompetence with insurance, I had to come back, and they tried to charge my insurance 14 more dollars for the SAME CAR.
