After my original review, Hertz publicly replied asking me to contact them directly so they could “investigate the issue and work towards a resolution.” I did. Behind closed doors, their “investigation” amounted to staff denying everything, refusing accountability, and hiding behind the franchisee model to avoid responsibility. Booked a truck with a 3.9m clearance, which was confirmed in writing. On pickup, Hertz provided a truck with 4.2m clearance and told me it was “the only one available”. Completely unsuitable for my needs and a waste of time having to navigate loading docks and additional labour used due to the truck. When I returned the truck, I was told there wasn’t enough diesel in the tank. I had filled it to the top, following staff instructions to keep filling until you could see the diesel in the tank.
