Management is terrible. We're understaffed, we have no activity director, and they've cut back on all our activities. It's like being in prison. They also have no one to drive the bus. And if you like good food, don't come here.
My loved one has been at Heritage Woods for almost a year now and I can not express my gratitude and satisfaction enough to the staff. I visit twice a week at different times during the day and have never been disappointed when I walk in. Always greeted with kindness, the place is always clean and the people living there all seem so happy. Out of all the places my family and I visited before making the decision that we did, I truly believe we picked the right place.
My mother moved in there back in May, and is adapting very well. She loves movie nights there and flower arrangement day. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
This place is terrible. Residents calling for nurses and staff and get ignored. Bed bugs are a consistent issue. Food quality and cooks are a joke. They go through cooks like babies go through diapers.
My experience with HW has been outstanding. I found the staff to be caring and compassionate. The facilities are well maintained. My relative has improved noticeably since her arrival. Our family feels we have made a very good choice on their behalf.
Heritage Woods of Gurnee has warm loving staff and great activities for their residents...not to forget to mention that the food tastes delicious!
