Not a proactive Dr. Transferred my care to UNM without my permission but was a unknown blessing as UNM is much better by far.
I went to Dr Herbert after I was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer. He recommended a drug to protect my fertility during chemo that you have to start the week before chemo. I was 38 at the time and did not have kids. I agreed but he failed to order the drug to protect my fertility, refused to respond to my calls or that of a fertility specialist I saw. I didn’t see him again until it was too late. Then he implied it didn’t matter because I wasn’t married. Abhorrent man.
Scott Herbert doesn't inform his patients of all treatment options, he fails to order vital tests and ignores the results of other tests. He keeps patients and families in the dark and plays God with their lives. He doesn't like patients getting second opinions and isn't up to date on new treatment options. We are devastated to have ever heard this man's name.
Dr. Scott Herbert, MD, has been my Dr( oncologist ) , since 2014. He has explained any questions, or concerns, about my situation in other words ; treatment: He is very kind and considerate, and patient. I highly recommend him to everyone!
Too busy with his administrative and outside business activities and not caring for patients. Gives misinformation or no information to patients involving life and death issues. He is not fully informed about treatment plans. Go elsewhere for treatment.
He is incompetent. His credentials are marginal, his medical amd legal breaches are Appalling. Santa Fe desperately needs more qualified oncologists, cancer is the leading cause of death in Northern NM. If the cancer doesn't kill you, the Dr's will.
