Dr. Menachery Worst, uncaring doctor!! Would not use him for a vet!
The entire experience was odd. This practice was referred by my GYN. Very antiquated systems in place. They only follow-up with calls when money is involved. You call and leave messages and no one calls back. You get transferred to people that never fully assist you only to be transferred to voicemail. The ladies that did my infusions were pleasant but the rest of the staff (Dr. Vaughn and Ms. Enrique P.A. could do better with their bedside manor. My daughter went to this doctor with stage 4 metastatic inflammatory breast cancer. She did not work together as a multidisciplinary team, and I was wondering why she didn’t talk to the Breast Oncologist that I sent my daughter to At Vcu. It was important. I thought that they share notes about my daughter’s care. Subsequently my daughter moved north to get help with Dana Farber there they found the right chemotherapy for her however, she caught pneumonia and later passed away a few months after leaving Virginia. My experience with HOAF has been entirely positive. I have been cancer free since March of 2025 and still go back for labs and meetings with my great oncologist, Dr. Nanda. I have always been treated like family. The nurses and other staff are so friendly and answered my questions with authority. They even go so far that when they hang a bag they tell you how long it will take. I was so happy to ring that bell at my last chemo and they all clapped! And, I have great confidence in Dr. Nanda and trust him completely.
Dr. Mauer is the best! He took his time to go over my medications and my lab results line by line. He made it very easy to understand my newly diagnosis of multiple myeloma. We appreciate him so much. From the moment you walk into the office you don't feel like you are there as a cancer patient. From the receptionist to all the staff, you feel the love. The experience was so personable.
