Do NOT do a consult w/Dr. Thakar, I wasted a year on this Dr's waitlist. During that time I was told to update my Gender Affirming Care Letter (GACL) FOUR TIMES. They require a new one every six months, minimum, and often ask for updates more frequently than that. Dr. Thakar also has the worst written communication style of any doctor I have met. My surgery journey is my own and I won’t share that on here because I want others to make the best decision for themselves. Dr. T knew about my extensive traumatic background, and she kept me informed on what would be happening, Dr. T and the rest of the team stayed along side me. She retaliated and denied me surgery when I brought up concerns about misgendering and not respecting my transition goals. Trans folks deserve better care.
Let me just start by saying, thank you so much to everyone that was involved with my surgery!! I also want to say if I could kiss Ms. Thakkar I would I will never be able to express how happy I am with my results and most of all happy for Thakkar existence and her ability to change peoples lives!! Thank you so much and I will most definitely recommend any young or older trans women to work with this warm hearted, dedicated, hard working women
This amazing woman, her assistant Christine Li, and their staff at Legacy Good Samaritan gave me the absolute BEST experience I have ever had and the greatest care possible.
