As an African American, all I can say is that the customer service provided at Hello Housing is appalling at best and downright rude at worst. Not to mention the lack of responses to basic questions concerning home ownership for minority communities. Are these folks even serious about what they do at all ?
As a first time lower income level house buyer, we were just so disappointed with Hellohousing. I would go so far as to say it was a complete and utter waste of time. From the non existent customer service to the appalling way they treat people like us in the lower income working class bracket. It seems like they only do this work as a Vanity Project , to make themselves look good when around other Liberal Progressive types , when asking what they do at their fancy fu fu organic food and juice parties and what not. Shady in most every way. Tough to say exactly what their true motivation is in this company. Although, providing affordable housing to lower income families is somewhere down the list of priorities. I do get the sense the managers and principals in this org. would have preferred to work for Big Banks , Investment Companies or Architectural firms if they could have done so. This gig seems like second prize to them and it shows.
As an agent, I listed sellers house that needs to be sold thru Hello Housing in early Dec 2019. This organization controlled the process. When we held on open house, they made email blast and about 25 families showed up. Open house great, but HH (hello housing) asked for 3 weeks to pick new buyer. Three weeks came by, and nothing happened. January came by and not much happened. Now we are in Feb and they are picking buyer and only now they will ask buyer to get pre-qualified thru a lender.
