Someone important to me was helped a lot by Dr. Dalzell, and several other wonderful psychologists. I don't even want to think what would have happened if he hadn't gotten their help.
Personally I did not have a good experience with Dr. Dalzell. I saw her as a teenager for an eating disorder. Every week she had me weigh myself and then recount all the food I ate during the week. We never touched on the underlying emotional challenges which actually led to the eating disorder developing. Unfortunately this has meant that years later, I still struggle with those same emotional challenges and now other forms of disordered eating habits.
Did the best she could to help me while I was able to attend sessions which I was very grateful for but said she'd be there when I got back from AD (Active Duty), answered one text of mine when I was back, and never answered again or followed up.
Have you ever worked with someone and you leave the office thinking, “wow, they get it!” That’s Heidi. A seasoned pro, an author, and an incredible human being who knows what she is doing. I would not second guess her work, shes no joke!
I have collaborated with Heidi on behalf of clients for the past 10 or so years. Her warm and patient approach, gentle demeanor, intellect and insight are just a few of her numerous strengths. She is sensitive and supportive and everything one should hope for in a competent, experienced therapist. Heidi is wonderful!
