Dimitri is the man! I suspected low refrigerant in my AC unit, so I called to schedule an appointment. Dimitri answered and scheduled me for that afternoon. He text me with his ETA and arrived on time. Within a few mins he confirmed my suspicion of low refrigerant, ran a sealant to seal a potential micro leak and added more refrigerant. And answered all my questions in the process.
TLDR: Honest HVAC people exist! Call Dimitri! Long story: I bought a Groupon (first mistake) for a furnace “tune-up” from Apex Clean Air for our 9 year old system as maintenance for the season. The guy walks around, takes pictures, does a “spore test” and starts writing up options. He tell me how dirty and unmanaged our systems are, how we are putting our child at risk, so on and so on, and then presents me with a $3,500 option, a $6,500 option, and a $10,000 option to clean them!
