I spent a few days in downtown Colorado Springs and came across Heart of Jerusalem on Uber Eats one evening. I absolutely love Mediterranean and Middle Eastern food, having enjoyed it over the years in places like Israel, Cyprus, Syria, and throughout the region. Service was fine, nothing to write home about. Ambiance is pretty cool inside the shop, lots of cultural art and music. The gyros are not good in my opinion... The seasoning is not at all what I'd expect for a gyro, the meat is weirdly spongey, and it felt like they just threw a random assortment of lettuce and other veggies in to the pita. Pretty expensive as well for just a gyro and nothing else. Won't be back.
Great food and great service! I ordered catering and got all my questions answered (how many people to order for compared to how many people I want to feed). The group I ordered for was so impressed and so grateful it wasn’t the normal pizza or sandwiches. Everything was professionally boxed and packaged.
Delicious. However, first Mediterranean plate ever that doesn't automatically come with rice. We've been to hundreds and this is first one. Wish they had a house hot sauce, some do and it's great. There was some spice or bone or something that joth wife and I hit and was so hard it felt like it would crack a tooth.
I’m completely in love with HOJ my husband is also the falafel’s are out of this world and so is everything else, too bad we move out of state in 2 months I will truly miss it there
