I do not recommend this hospital at ALL. Not just in the medical part of it, but in the compassion, communication, organization, patient customer service. Staff not documenting jewelry in a dead body and stealing your family member gold necklace that ambulance brought her with. Imagine your family member dies at 6:00 am, they call you wake you up to tell you, you in shock ask them to call you back when they have a chance. I am so thankful to the staff at Westside Regional Medical Center for the excellent care given to my husband . He was their for 5 days with aspiration pneumonia and a collapsed lobe. Each and every staff member was knowledgeable, courteous and attentive. Their compassion made us feel comfortable and grateful to be in such good hands . I find the nurses at Westside as the most professional I have ever encountered, I left the hospital today after a five day stay for pneumonia, the nurse leader and the nurses themselves cheered me up from day one, they showed me what caring and compassion is. As a cancer survivor I have been in many hospitals but something about Westside wants me to put them at the top of the list, every one from the cleaning people to management are polite caring people. My 78 mother arrived on August 6 2020. She was suffering from severe stomach pains dehydration n hadn’t eaten in 4 days. Dr Goldstein saw her at her office n sent my mother to this hospital. Upon arrival I had to leave her at ER door w Security n was told to call in a hour. My mother was in the ER from 230 pm until 5 am n had seen a DR Holmes, that was the extent of Drs for her entire stay. 8/6/2020. On an urgent request to see my Dr in her office. When I arrived Dr Goldstein told me to go directly to Westside hospital as I was dehydrated. I called my son and he took me to the ER. He was not allowed in so I was left with security until a nurse from the ER came for me. And then the horror began. I arrived sometime after 100pm. Saw a Dr Holmes. Terrible staff, night nurses are lazy and very neglectful to the patients because there aren’t any visitors there. It’s been over 3 days and the Urologist hasn’t even bothered to come see my girlfriend who’s waiting on them in specific to help her. Last night I was standing out the ER for 30 mins waiting for them to come down and get her food cause she hadn’t eaten in almost 4 hours and the nurses weren’t giving her food. I came in to the Er via ambulance because last week when I was here my dr (my usual dr (specialist I see outside of the hospital ) didn’t do the right thing and made things worse. Im in a nice room all by myself, the admitting dr consulted a dr who isn’t the dr I was seeing (THANK YOU GOD) I’ve been in my own room since Saturday the 1 of August it’s now Monday the 3.
