As I could use groups so I checked here. I did have a horrific experience. First a male nurse threatened me to be put down stairs. Due to it being a threat, I could only imagine downstairs. He bullied me from 2 am till he left. It was horrible. He was mad because he told me to go to sleep. I tried to explain part of being there was I couldn’t sleep. I had cards and coloring book. My experience here was traumatizing. I came voluntarily through a referral by HCA West Tampa Hospital. This was my experience; The first sign of inadequacy in this program occurred my first day and it was the lack of therapeutic one on one engagement with my therapist. He based his approach for my treatment plan by reading my prior report from my baker act and not by asking me questions about my trauma. Simply disappointed… a place that could have helped my boyfriend tremendously turned into his worst nightmare. My boyfriend is one of the most insightful and articulate people I have ever met and they used his history of PTSD flashbacks and delusions due to immense stress (situations where he has passed out resulting in 7 staples in his head) and multiple days of not sleeping which attributed to his condition. Wonderful, eye opening program. The staff truly care about you and want you to succeed. The therapy is helpful and the information given is something every single person should receive (the world would be a much better place). If you’re struggling with your mental health this is a great place to be.
