We lost my sister to cancer in March of 2022. She came to live with my husband and me after she decided to stop chemo, and I cannot imagine navigating all we went through in the two months we had left without the help of Stephanie and the rest of the Haywood Hospice and Palliative Care team. Though this was not my first experience with hospice, it was my first in NC. Where to start? We brought my mom to our home in the mountains in Maggie Valley for the summer from Florida . She started hospice almost immediately upon arrival. Meeting Nurse Erin and having the reassurance she would follow my moms care herself, my fears of not having a great nurse for her here were instantly put to rest. Haywood hospice did an excellent job providing care to my grandfather in his last days. Every worker was so helpful and the communication was excellent. He had Erin as her nurse and we couldn’t have asked for better care. She listened to his concerns and never rushed him. We were very pleased with Haywood hospice.
