I just called this management company to schedule a viewing for a property (that has been vacant for months) but they said they charge $85 just to SEE a property to decide if it's for you. This is an absolute scam. From my (limited) research, I found that in California, charging a fee just to view a rental property is not a recognized or legal “application screening fee” under state law. *** Edit, to address the company’s reply.
