I spent most of my teen years growing up on Hayes Hamburgers. Chili on a bun, tenderloin, chili dry, and coffee....then the price went up to 15 cents a cup (No refills). I was destroyed. Kidding! For more than 5 years I ate at least 8 meals a week there, sometimes stayed so late the bar crowd was coming in. Mr. & Mrs. Hayes were there a lot as were Jim & Joe. Haven't been back to KC and Hayes for a long time, but still smell the burgers cooking. 5 stars then and I am sure Jim is making sure it is 5 stars now.
