Affordable and Friendly – Hawthorne Apartments has grown over the past year or two. They are definitely friendlier. Also, if you become a resident there, you can depend on Hawthorne Apartments for almost anything! You can rent DVDs at the main building, they have a pretty nice workout center with TVs, a well kept pool, a hot tub, a basketball court and even a nice place to sit, relax and read the newspaper.
Expensive and not exactly friendly – Probably one of the worst apartment complexes in Overland Park I've seen so far. With a considerable amount of unhappy tenants, for 3 years in a row rent fees have rose on the order of $50 or more. If rent is not payed promptly by the 4th, they have a pre-written court summons taped to your door demanding payment or else. For what you pay in rent, there is virtually nothing covered by them.
