Had a kidney stone removal procedure done today with Dr. Patel and was so nervous. The staff here, from the check-in to the discharge, everyone was amazing! Reception, intake, nurses, doctors, etc. made this day so much better for me. I imagine nobody likes to have surgery, but if you have to do it and have the chance to do it at Hawthorn, I highly recommend.
So I have been there twice for knee surgery. Once in 2014 and today, in June of 2025. Both times the entire staff was awesome. I was particularly impressed by the nurse, Josh, who took care of me. He was amazing, very personable and attentive. He explained everything extremely well. He had a great attitude, a sense of humor and he made me feel very relaxed. I wish I could go back and thank him for his exceptional service. If you go there and get Josh you are in good hands.
Ok, Shoulder surgery..my personal experience was wonderful. Kind, thoughtful, professional staff worked together as a first rate team. Im very grateful to you all.
Edit: refund was processed and received. Albeit not any easy process- in the end everyone was made right. Going on the second month of getting a financial run around. They owe me over $1800 and I cannot get my money from them (this center requires payment in advance and “supposedly” refunds after insurance). The story changes each time you call. “The refund process takes 30 days.” That was 60 days ago. I had surgery there and after the surgery they sent me money back saying I over payed then 3 months later they tell me they need the money back. Been sending payments but all of a sudden I'm in collections. Would not recommend this place for anything. Office people these days are not as good as they used to be. Don't go here.
