When I first arrived to Hathaway, I was pleasantly surprised by the community and maintenance team. Throughout my residency here, the community has slowly started to become increasingly unsafe with constant break-ins, mail/package theft, and overall lack of care from the management team. There is always broken washers/dryers in the on-site laundry room and dog feces on the street/walkways. I’d like to write a review about my many years of living here, specifically about maintenance. One of the og that’s been here ever since I’ve moved in is Morgan. Morgan is a hard worker and great guy to communicate all my problems to and he will always be there to get things done. He’s always working and has a smile on his face and again I’d like to say my experience here is better because of good Matience (Morgan).

First, I want to acknowledge the positives of having lived at Hathaway for one year—specifically, the people who work there. The staff is truly the best part of this community. Cornelius, in the leasing office, is an absolute gem. He is consistently helpful, positive, and responsive, whether by phone or email. It’s always a joy to run into him when I’m walking my dog and see his smiling face. Marvin and Morgan from the maintenance team are incredibly hard workers. If you’re a Cal State Long Beach student looking for housing from out of town, please read this before signing a lease. I’ve lived here for a little over two years. When I first moved in, the community was genuinely safe and quiet. That is no longer the case. Safety has fallen off a cliff, and management continues acting like it’s not their responsibility. Maintenance is very helpful and friendly. A couple of the staff that have been there awhile, especially Morgan and Marvin, are always very helpful and friendly. Morgan helped me out one night last year when I had a plumbing emergency and I was very thankful for his quick response time and polite manner even if my plumbing emergencyinterrupted his dinner plans.
