At Hartz®, our passion for pets all began in 1926, when Max and Gustav Stern came to America with 5,000 singing canaries. The canaries, called the Harz Roller, came from the Upper Harz Mountain region (somebody along the way added a "t"). Eventually they started selling food for the birds as well. Just bought the Hartz ultra guard flea collar for cats. My cat was wearing it for a day and a half. Noticed hair missing and bare skin showing. Clearly in discomfort. After making calls to vets and doing some research, I was told to never use anything manufactured by Hartz. They kill cats and dogs. They use chemicals and neurotoxins. It’s been going on for 10+ years. They should be off the shelves and shut down. How it’s even approved by any agency when it’s proven and known to hurt and kill animals. i didnt want to leave a star at all .But had to in order to leave a review ... today july 28th 2014 i got the Hartz Ultra Guard Rid flea and tick shampoo for dogs with oatmeal soothes irritated skin with oatmeal ,And it says its safe for 6month old dogs and older ..I bath my 8 month old yorkie poo in this shampoo only use a very small amount , while bathing my yorkie poo she became very sick and weak and started where she could not stand or walk she was very bad I called the vet and vet said she was poison from shampoo to mu... read more
