I just called this place with an emergency eye issue that basically just needed a look at and they refused me . I lost my health insurance due to this covid mess and they have a company policy to not accept people without insurance. So basically they assumed i couldnt afford to pay for my eye exam and refused to let me come in. What kind of a place refuses to help someone because they assumed i was poor. Absolutely pathetic human beings.

Aaron, We apologize for the inconvenience. We only take health insurance because we are only allowed to treat insured at our center. We can see uninsured, but then have to refer out to a government supplemented healthcare provider (Excela, UPMC, etc). This avoids unnecessary charges to you and allows the other entities to collect from government subsidies. This is all so you’re not double charged. It actually saves you money. Just heard today that you let 4 people go after 20+ years each of working there but you kept the younger workers! YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED!

I wish you knew how heart wrenching these decisions have been. I’m sorry you feel this way, but you also don’t know the countless hours I’ve spent at work by myself to keep this business afloat. We used to see 600 patients per week. We now see 40. My whole staff was furloughed for the last 6 weeks. 1 physician, that’s me, has been working to keep our office going. RecommendedI couldn’t say enough to express how truly awesome Dr. Coby Hartman is! The staff at the facility are all professional and cordial, some more friendly than others but overall the experience is GREAT! I refer anyone looking to Hartman solely based on my experience and the outstanding care I receive there. I’ve been a patient since 2014.
Staff is extremely kind and patient. Wait time is excellent to acceptable. Great at informing patients of wait time if there is one. Latest equipment and very clean.
Love Dr Hartmann. He is wonderful! The lady on the phone scheduling the appointments has no patience if you have questions and is just plain rude. My 13 year old daughter is brand new but I have been going there for years. Other than that, I highly recommend this amazing practice. Five stars for the practice.
