I came in with throat swelling/closing, oxygen 92 (brought my own pulse ox) I was triaged after 15 minutes of waiting and they confirmed my throat & uvula was swollen. They told me to wait in the waiting area & I have been waiting for 2 hours with oxygen dropping. I had to leave and go to another ER. PRIORITY= AIRWAY*BREATHING*CIRCULATION but not at St Vincent, Bridgeport.
I hope whoever reads this looking for a helpful review recieves the kindness and care from nurses ike Rosa and Silvia. Rosa and Silvia were some of the best nurses I've had during a hospital stay and they absolutely deserve the Daisy Award. Thank you Rosa and Silvia for your humanness and for being my angels while recovering from surgery. Bless you. One of the worst caring hospitals Mother in Law in law , 84 years old with COPD & Emphysema & now Pneumonia is being kept in the hallway for 24 hours. She has been offered NO food. We called to speak with someone about her care because we are in another state. Still waiting over 16 hours still waiting for someone to contact us!!. UNBELIEVABLE. Contacting patients advocacy now. Then if no response Contacting others.
Easily the worst hospital experience I've ever had. And unfortunately, I've had a lot. The people that work here are fantastic. They are really trying. But they are struggling because there are not enough of them and they are not supported. And that translates into a terrible patient experience.
