Harry's Roadhouse is a New Mexican eatery situated off the beaten path in Santa Fe. The most popular spots in this place are the sunny back patio that is surrounded by flowers, and the chatty bar area. Food is served with a Southwestern twist. Try the Smoked Chicken Nachos, a hefty pile of chips topped with smoke-infused bits of chicken, cheese, guacamole, black beans, chives, jalapenos, sour cream and fresh, chunky salsa. The bar is open noon-10 or 11 p.m.

I have visited Harry's for years, when in Santa Fe, and now I am delighted to say I live here. I have met many wonderful staff and customers over the years....hubby and I do love it! Now will someone please tell me how to treat the tall man in the front of the house. I don't know who he is but he is very rude to just about everyone. I smile at him, thank him for every movement he makes when seating us, try conversation ...nothing he just walks by us, no smile, no acknowledgement, just arrogance. Am I the only one? No, judgin... read more
TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!!!! – I've been there twice now. The first time was awesome, but after the treatment I had this evening I definitely won't back! After 20 minutes, I had to go to the bar to get my own water. My margarita sat on the bar that entire time while the ice melted into the drink (we could see it from our table but were unsure if it was ours until we saw our waiter FINALLY grab it and take it to us). My order was wrong and my husband was finished eating before they brought out my correct order. I told the waiter to... read more
Don't listen to "Harrysucks"! – Harry and Peyton have kept this place's spirit, rustic but clean and comfortable look, great classic and new dishes and desserts, fast and good bartenders, warm fires, beflowered patio, and hence the crowds, intact for a long time now (I've been coming since 1993). Tourists and locals are equally welcome, and although I haven't worked there, some of the staff have been there for many years, which suggests that maybe Harry's not so bad!!
Owners unfriendly, food average – I have been going to Harry's on and off for 14 years and the owners have not acknowleged me once. The food is average and very high fat but the deserts are usually worth the visit
Bland, Disappointing – BLAND, disappointing, This is our third time trying Harry's, strike 3 your out! Breakfast was very bland, Ham special was actually seasoned well, but I felt like I was eating beef jerkey. Breakfast potatoes nice portion no seasoning. Service was actually good this time and the manager was receptive to my feedback on the ham. Oh yeah, need to try a new coffee blend.....one word YUCK!
My wife and I stopped there on Sunday and enjoyed a wonderful New Mexican lunch but most of all I enjoyed the the tangy, not too sweet margaritas that "taste like you're drinking something" and the friendly bar maid and bar customers. What a friendly place! It's my favorite place to stop when I'm in that part of santa Fe.
Attitude adjustment needed – This is an average restaurant with an owner who can be rude.....not a good idea, Harry. I'm a local who ends up here to meet friends on this end of town when I can't persuade them elsewhere. I think we're all willing to "eat average" but if the staff and owner are indifferent, that's a problem.
Saturday lunch met all our expectations – My husband and I had an excellent lunch at Harry's, June 14th, 2008. We were thoroughly pleased with Harry's. This was my second visit and my husband's first. I had the vegetarian special, which included tomatoes (eeek!) but our great waitress carefully explained their origin and assured us they were not part of the scare. We enjoyed being seating outside on the back porch, where we had a good view of the delightful patio. Our chatty waitress was attentive and dependable. She must be... read more
The Great American Neighborhood Restaurant – This isn't the place to go for a gourmet meal, unless you're talking desserts. It's the place to meet friends, have good, hearty food, and enjoy the wait staff. Regulars are cherished, and get more love from the staff when Harry's is their Cheers Bar, but I've almost always found the service to be pleasant, and often friendly, and almost always competent. I've eaten at Harry's off and on for 7 years. You can sit at the counter, like a diner, in the bar (which is a full bar: beer, ... read more
