Got to say this. I was totally ignored when I went in to order a sandwich near the deli section of the store. A man said someone would be right with you. He continued to do various tasks behind the counter. Seemed rude and hurried. I waited long enough and left. Maybe the morale of the store needs to be worked on by the management. Otherwise a very nice store.
Seems that HT is about the only store that has CONSISTENTLY superior customer service with friendly people-on the other end of the scale is Walmart.
horrible staff, no one helped me and when i asked for help the guy said to give him a minute he would be going to the back to get something and never came back out!!!
I was shopping here today and had a very excellent shopping experience as I always expect to have with Harris Teeter. Until I was having a problem with my order, the cashier was so sweet and then Gary from the customer service desk came over. He was so rude and ill-tempered, iv'e never seen such unprofessionalism from Harris Teeter. I love shopping here but I don't think I will be coming back as long as Gary works there,
Finally opened in Asheville. We go several times a week. Bakery items, wonderful. They usually have marked down items that are still very fresh and if you shop the sales and use coupons you can get really great deals. The employees are very friendly and helpful. 5% senior discount on Thursday.
Ran in to make a quick purchase. A woman came over from the service counter to check out a man. I get in line next. Once she finished checking him out - she simply walked away. The girl working checkout the next line over said "She does that all the time." Lets hope not. However, it left quit a distaste. Hard to find good help these days.

The store is always very clean, the employees are friendly & accommodating, and there is a great selection of various food and home items. They usually have very good sales, and, contrary to word-of-mouth opinions/beliefs, their prices are no more expensive than other local grocery stores which don't offer half the quality Harris Teeter does. It is my favorite store and I know people who will drive from 30+ minutes away to shop at this location! Yes, it's that good.
