Very disappointed in the harris county animal control!! We had found and caught a small raccoon out during the day and called for someone to pick it up. NO ONE showed!! The animal was clearly sick and it was treated as a non-concern on their end.

This shelter has a wonderful and caring staff. Despite being overwhelmed by our counties animal over population, surrendered pets and abandoned animals, they do not give up on the pets. They continue working with the public to help educate, offer low cost rabies vaccination and do an annual neuter scooter for Free with SNAP . All adopted animals are fully vetted before they leave the shelter and come at an affordable price. #AdoptShelterPets

I hate this place they are all heartless murders. I took my dogs there because I was moving and had no where for them . I was very concerned about them so I called 3 days later and they told me that they killed them the same day because they were aggressive and black labs don't get adopted a lot. That's bs . My dogs were scared and confused. I have at least 50 people that can tell you they were never aggressive. And they didn't even give them 24 hours. One was the mommy 5yrs and the daughter not even 2yrs. Yall are horrible ... read more
