More than expected – I am having a difficult time understanding the reviews by others on this company. I came to Harless & Associates as a referral from a friend and got more than I expected. Their team looked over my prior year return during our appointment and found numerous errors where we had over paid taxes. They amended our return and within a few months we received our refund. Along with the great tax service we received they also gave some very helpful advise to use going forward.
Dirty Taxes - Dirty Diamonds – Steve Harless did our taxes for three years. He actually listed more deductions than we had in income. We consulted with other accountants who informed us that we better pray not to get audited. He also tried to sell us a fake diamond. We paid $4000 for it and it appraised for $20. After threatening legal action, he finally took it back. Who hustles diamonds from their accounting firm??? Word to the wise, don't buy your diamonds and get your taxes done by the same guy.
Amazing & Outstanding – I am a business owner of a small construction company and I have been using Harless & Associates for over 10 years. Steve, Karen, and Ed are very experienced and knowledgeble professionals. Who know there Profession. They are down to earth and easy to work with, I really appreciate their Attention to Detail. Excellent – I haven't used them in a while, but when I did, the friendliness and expertise helped out greatly. They have really saved me, and I'm considering using the investment branch. They have filed individual taxes for 4 years, including amendments.
Terrible Accountant – Harless and Associates is terrible. When we asked how much our tax preparation fee would be, we were told we would be charged "by the form." They ended up charging three times what we have been charged in the past for our tax preparation ($900 for a straight forward filing) and filled out several forms that were not necessary. The most expensive and did the worst job – I paid them over $1000 dollars to do my tax return, and there were THREE mistakes in it. The biggest mistake was he incorrectly estimated my quarterly taxes and now I have to pay a huge lump sum to the IRS plus penalties. I have to go into DEBT to pay the IRS because of that one mistake. Avoid this firm like the plague!
