Great selection of plywood, hardwood, and cedar. 3/4” utility plywood is somewhere around $30/sheet, which is unbelievable in 2024. The challenging part about shopping here is the high turnover of employees. Seems like it’s usually someone’s first day at the register, and buying lumber can be excruciatingly slow. Always double check your receipt before heading out to the lumberyard.
We always use Hardel's on Harrison, West Olympia. Local $$ stays in the community, after all. But lately, experienced staff are hard to find there. Don't know the names of common construction materials, including kinds of nails. My partner, who worked in construction for decades discovered that even the yard guys didn't know the kinds of materials they were hauling out of their warehouse. We'll still buy from Hardel's. But the management needs to train their staff in the language and craft of construction.

Great store for general tools and parts. I was specifically looking for hardwood lumber, which they do not have. Great access off Black Lake Blvd though.
