Eating Italian (my favorite) is very difficult for anyone who has a gluten allergy. However, the Chef at The Happy Italian is always eager to prepare gluten free dishes for me every time we go (which is once or twice a week now)!!! I love watching him prepare FRESH ingredients for every dish! He is amazing and so is the food, gluten free, vegan, classic Italian dishes and seafood. �
The Pecan Rice & broiled Catfish with buttery Italian seasoning was amazing! The fish melts in your mouth and is flaky.
Food is awesome here! We have always enjoyed dinning here and bringing our friends and family! And the family are just plain nice! I can't even name my favorite dishes because everything is so good!

wonderful food and great service! We had a large party (with young kids). They were very patient and got our kids food out immediately! The pepperoni pizza was amazing, meatballs and spaghetti - wonderful, my kids ate it all! I ordered the Veal Parmesan which could have fed me and three other people, it was so good!!! My husband (who is extremely picky) ordered the lasagna and basically polished it off. Definitely a family friendly atmosphere that has amazing food - you will not be disappointed.
I can't say enough wonderful things about this restaurant and those who run the establishment! Every single time I eat here, Chef Lenny will come out and ask how I am and how the meal is, the service is always marvelous and the atmosphere is amazing. The food is as good as could be, not to mention I don't want lasagna anywhere else in New Orleans, now that I've been eating theirs!!! Really good Italian restaurant. You can build your pizza and there are different crust, sauce and cheese options. The small one is still plenty for 1 hungry person or 2 not so hungry people. My husband had a sandwich and other than wanting a bit more sauce, he like it and he is very picky. Wish they were in Metairie instead of Harahan, and it is easy to miss because it is in a small strip center. Worth the drive and the prices are pretty reasonable. I highly recommend it👍
