Great Bakery This bakery is the best in South Bay. The cakes are delicious and they make a pastry out of strawberies, peaches, kiwis, etc. that is great for any brunch or office party. The bakery is not cheap but the extra dough is worth it (pun intended.) PROS: Great taste CONS: Expensive
Awesome! Hans' made me a birthday cake with custard in the middle and fresh strawberries, kiwis and peaches on top that was out of this world. Everyone oohed and aahed over every bite. It was absolutely delicious! PROS: Delicious & elegant. A delight to give and to receive! CONS:
Unorganized mess... We are getting married on a pretty popular day in the fall and have planned for that by booking all our services way in advance. We tried to book a July tasting date with this bakery in May but the woman who answered the phone told us to call back closer to July because she had forgotten her appt book and didn't want to schedule so far in advance. The best baked goods at great prices You have to try their fruit strudel - people used to bring it into work all the time and I loved it! I finally took my mom to go get one and she balked at the price (about $20) but once she tasted it, she was hooked and it served more than we expected. When I was there I couldn't believe all the different baked goods they have and how cheap they were. I love the cinnamon rolls and they are less than $2 each!! Don't get your Wedding Cake from Han's & Harry. Approximately one month before our wedding we contacted Hans & Harry about a design we wanted created for our cake. Before we met with them we faxed over a copy of the design and talked to them on the phone. Their response - "Absolutely we can do this cake for you". Great! So we drove down to Bonita, met with Charlotte, showed her again the design, did a tasting and pointed to another cake in their case that was of similar height. Best Romantice Wedding Cake...I couldn't have dreamed of a better one Well, what can I say? Hans and Harry's is the best that San Diego has to offer. My wedding cake was exceptional and the flavors they offered were outstanding. Charlotte at the bakery sat with us...all nervous and all and helped us pick out the perfect ending to a beautiful day...our 5 tiered cake. It had 5 flavors and we received 2 sheet cakes to feed all of our guests. They are a hidden treasure in the South Bay
Customer Service Lacking I am in the process of finalizing some plans for an early 2010 wedding when I called Han's & Harry's because they have nice sized 7" cakes that I would like to use as individual centerpieces for my tables. When I called, the girl who answered knew nothing about prices or types of cake. Best Bakery in the World I am astonished at all the negativity in this forum. I think this is the best bakery I have ever patronized. Everything is excellent. The least outstanding item I have obtained there is a fruit cream pie. Nothing wrong with it: less favored by me- I think they contain too much stabilized cream. Best Bakery Sorry jerry p. that you had a bad experience. My cake was beautiful and the flavors they had i still can taste the cake. People usually dont remember wedding cake but people at my wedding did. They still talk about it. The fruit strudels are amazing too. It is a lil pricey but its worth it if you want to gain those calories dont buy cheapy cake buy the best so that its worth it. Then lets all make a resolution to change out eating habit.lol
