I mistakenly took Hanover/Citizens to be a good, upstanding company. Boy howdy was I ever wrong. They are no different than other terrible insurance companies. After being with them for years and through significant rate increases the past few years, I finally had a claim and it went very poorly. I made a mistake of allowing a "friend" drive my car due to her complaining of car sickness. She ended up causing nearly $8,000 of damages to my 2025 Trailblazer that barely had 10k miles on it (only had it for a year) when she hit a guard rail pulling into a parking. I would not recommend dealing with Hanover insurance. Insurance companies get a bad reputation for a reason and Hanover insurance is a good example. Poor communication from adjuster on claim status and then wants to negotiate for a smaller settlement than what was discussed after I already paid out of pocket for a roof replacement. I don't know what their company mission statement is but I do know they offer very poor communication at least the adjuster I am dealing with and I made a decision not to close the claim until the... read more
