Unlike most traditional big box food chains, Hanna's Gourmet has a friendly and knowledgeable staff. It was clean, organized and the products were easy to find. I purchased a few bottles of spices that I ran out of for my split pea soup recipe, and the spices were fresh and very distinctive in there flavor. I also noticed a large selection of different types of imported chocolates, candies and snacks, as well as honey and jams. When I walked into this store I thought... "Wow! What a beautiful display." I was greeted with a bright smile and a warm welcome. Then I took a walk around and saw the wonderful variety of spices as well as dried fruits, nuts and imported items. Also look for the section labeled "Sweets!" What's really nice about this store is that you can also have gift baskets created with your individual selections. Whenever I go to Hanna's Gourmet I have 3 musts...Granola (any kind, take your pick, they're all great!), a Hanna's Candle and an Olli Salame. These are the MUSTS. But I've also bought and loved the Cherry Peppers, Tate's Cookies and some sweets :). Oh, and the Gift Baskets are awesome.

All I can say is that I found a new favorite Haddonfield shop for personal use AND gift giving. From specialty spices to delicious candles, this store carries nearly everything for the foodie in all of us. On my first visit, I mentioned I wished they carried farro. They had it within a few days, and the quality of the grain is far better than that from Whole Foods. I have found the most unique gifts....cutting boards that rival the large chain cooking stores to gourmet cookies and treats for the host and hostess. I can't wai... read more
