Poor service for over-priced manicure The place looks great and like you will be treated nicely, the even say they give you your own box (which is re-used from someone elses) but you get there even if your a long time customer they dont even acknowledge your there and when they do they get mad at you for being 5 minutes late. AWFUL PLACE never going back!
Anna (mani/pedi) and Soodi (facials/waxing) are Great! I've been going to Hands to Hold in Encino for about 8 or 9 years. I used to get acrylics (not bad). Now I just go for manicures, pedicures, and facials. I only have Anna do my mani/pedi because she does everything the way it should be done (take note Peri2010. Anna will do right by you and if she's doing it all, there's no twisting and turning. Just make sure you make your appointment with Anna for both mani and pedi.). She does a perfect cleanup, scrubbing, and her mas... read more
Looks nice, that's about it. When I saw this salon I thought for sure I was going to get the best treatment and service. The first time I went was an ok experience, nothing too dissapointing. Didnt offer me a drink, but I got over it. The second time I went was the last. I walked in, only to stand at the counter for about 5 mins before anyone even acknowledged me, this being 5, 6, 7 girls standing there either on the computer, talking to eachother, helping other customers, etc. I don't expect to be waited on hand and foot, b... read more
This is a nail sweat shop! The 2 owners do not know how to treat their employees. All of the nail technicians are Vietnamese, and the owners take advantage of them and treat them like servants. I don't think they make minimum wage, aren't given lunch and regular breaks and expect them to put up with a demanding clientle. Do not patronize either of these locations.
Hand to Hold - Pricey I would have given this nail salon a higher rating except for one thing... the price. They're VERY busy, so it's a good idea to call ahead for an appointment -- they give each client a box of their very own nail tools which are not used on anyone else, and they clean and disinfect them after every use, and keep them in a huge wall of filed boxes to make sure you always get your tools. I like that, as I have suffered from nail fungus issues from other salons. It's a little bit impersonal and there are SO... read more
Soodi, the Estatician, is the ONLY reason I go!!! Soodi not only does the best eyebrows I've ever gotten, but she does the best waxing, too! She is funny, inviting and very professional. Now that I've found her, I'll follow her where ever she goes!
The place is very shabby, all the stations need to be recovered,I can,t imagine a nail salon in such need of repair. As far as the work, it is ok for the price.
poor quality at a high price I have been here exactly two times and it will remain that way. I thought my first time might have been a fluke with the rude ladies at the front desk (I was completely ignored, not even glanced at) to the lack of attention to detail with my acrylic fill. The shapes of each of the nails did not match, and at the end of the fill the guy who was doing my nails, Joseph, pushed my cuticles back and said "okay, done!" Why he didn't do the cuticles before he put the acrylic gel is beyond me. The second... read more
Extreme Poor Quality I live in Encino and was happy to find a salon I could help support in my zip code. I am a weekly manicure and pedicure. I gave this salon one month of business, and I have not been back for a mani/pedi. The staff is nice enough, not happy about spending extra for a "spa" chair, or the fact they put two technicians on you at the same time and you have to stretch and bend to make sure they can work on you. I am VERY tall and they do not accommodate for that at all. For the pedicure, they do not clean arou... read more
