Handlebar J, "Scottsdale's Original Rib House" and saloon, is one of a kind; Herndon family owned and operated since 1975... (established in 1966.) Built in the early 1960s by "Wild Bill Byrd" the original name was "Wild Bill's". At that time there were only a few western style saloons in North Scottsdale, since then, all the others have come and gone. arrogant no talent bartenders – As a patron of Handlebar J's it was unfortunate to witness the rudeness of the bartenders there. I have personally seen them telling a customer if he did not tip to get out of the seat so some one else could sit down that would tip. I know this customer personally and he has always been gracious to staff when being served however is it a requirement to tip after each drink ?I think not!!
