Sadly, over the last year this location is serving the ice cream very soft. A cone automatically becomes an immediate mess. And, the portions are more skimpy than other Handel locations. When I use up my gift card, I won’t be coming back hete.
House made creamy unique ice cream flavors. Wish they had more seating options. They only have a few outside picnic tables. No indoor seating. Walk up window ordering. A variety of cones are available for an extra charge. Portions are large. Good location —walkable to restaurants, coffee shops, and other attractions.
We live in Iowa but come to California once or twice a year, and Handles in Vista is always our sweet treat stop! The service is always so kind and welcoming, and the ice cream flavors are crazy good—there’s always something new to try. I’ve always loved Monkey Business, but Knot Your Average Dough might be my new favorite! Handles is truly the highlight of our trip every time.
Great ice cream, yet I go there for one thing (banana split) and every time I go, my order is incorrect (no matter who takes my order or if they write it down). If i do say it’s incorrect, I’m often met with hesitation to remake it correctly. l often have to just accept it being incorrect simply because I don’t want to deal with the awkwardness. So much bang for a small buck. I ordered a small strawberry cheesecake ice cream. I got a huge serving of ice cream in a nicely sized waffle cone. There were massive chunks of cheesecake in the ice cream which had me whooping and hollering. Kind server gave me a cup, spoon, abd extra napkins. If you're ever cloudy, come here for a ray of flavorful sunshine. Brightened my day.!
