Been a wile since I've been to a Handel's and first thing I noticed was how expensive it's gotten. That wasn't enough to stop me because I'll still pay for good ice cream, but everything I got tastes so much worse than I remembered. The chocolate peanut butter was so milk chocolate it might as well have just been vanilla. The quality was also noticeably worse and tasted like the cheap store bought ice creams that have corn syrup, gums, and dyes. Yum! The taro flavor was delicious which I'm very picky about. The strawberry cheesecake had the perfect amount of tarty strawberry flavor and cheesecake bites. Also tried mango sorbet, praline pecan, and brownie crunch which were all delicious. Prices are pretty reasonable for the amount that they pack in. A small waffle cone is 6.75 but they give you 3.5 scoops of ice cream which is a plenty for two people.
My family and I always come back to Handel’s whenever we’re craving something ice cream. The ice cream is consistently great, and the young employees are always friendly and efficient—even when the line is long and moving nonstop. I did witness a customer being unnecessarily rude while holding up the line with all these samples, which honestly felt unfair to both the staff and other customers waiting.
