The ice cream was good, but expensive. All of the ice cream cones we ordered had soft ice-cream. To make it worse, my daughter ice-cream, in a cone, was super soft and melting on her hands from the time they served it. I went back up to the counter and asked for a cup to tip it into. The guy insisted on charging me an extra fifty cents for the bowl. I asked him nicely, can't we just have a paper to-go-cup to tip it into? Nope, he insisted on charging me an extra fifty for a plastic cup.
Honestly lovely ice cream here, there's no doubts about that. Only reason I'm taking off a point is because they don't let you sample any flavors so it's a bit of a gamble. We did want to try some of the flavors but decided to play it safe and go for what we were familiar with on knew would be a hit because it's also fairly expensive to buy so much ice cream and have it not go well together in terms of flavors. La Jolla location. Ice cream was good but portion is small. Vegas location gives way more.
Unlike the Handels in my hometown, the size of the actual ice cream i got was about half sized at the location in La Jolla and half as big as the demonstration photos. My kids got a small and I got a medium… both the same size. What a disappointment.
Delicious ice cream!!! My Favorite is Rocky Road and Pistachio ice cream in a waffle cone. Honestly, the Pistachio ice cream has giant chunks of pistachio nuts in it, so creamy and divinely satisfying.
