The location is up and coming. I would recommend updating to the bathrooms my shower had crappy water pressure. I arrived on a Friday around 4p and there was no maintenance staff onsite. The poor girl working the desk also fixed my AC do better and hire more staff please.
The hotel staff are friendly and helpful making our stay a much nicer experience. The business center is situated on the first floor and affords guests the opportunity to have a quiet and private location to work or have a phone call. The cafe/ lobby area is nicely appointed with several private areas to eat or just sit. The hotel’s location is close to restaurants, shopping, grocery and drug stores.
I would have given Hampton Inn of downtown Wilson, NC 5 stars because of the excellent customer service that I received from Hanna; however, after my check out, I realized later that night that it would be best to book another stay at the same location using my Hilton Family & Friends discount as always ($40), since I’m an former employee, and spouse of a current employee of Hilton. Hotel is in great shape and was very clean. My compliant is about the lack of a light blocking curtain. I kept waking up throughout the night bc there was only a light shade that covered the window. (Standard for this hotel they said) There was also someone clanging metal somewhere nearby till about 11pm but that’s not the hotels fault I don’t think.
