Bring your own pillows. The pillows are terrible. My face just sank to the mattress, even with two pillows. This is just personal preference, but I couldn't get good sleep with the pillows they had. And isn't sleep the most important part?I asked for firm pillows but they don't have any other kind of pillows. Can't recommend for people who need firm pillows to sleep. If you like extra soft pillows then you are good here. Everything else about the hotel is great.

While staying at this Hotel my bicycle was stolen. It was locked inside my truck. I found out from the Santa Maria Police Dept. when I call them to file a report that they are called to this Hotel often. There is a homless camp down in the river bed down the street. I believe the hotel should have let me no of this and I would have brought the bike inside. The staff was not helpful at all. The parking lot is not patrolled. After searching for hotel rooms in Pismo Beach, and finding the nicer hotels very expensive, I booked a room for one night at the Hampton Inn Santa Maria. Although it is located inland a bit, it was easy to find. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was very nice, clean and comfortable as well. They offered a complimentary full breakfast and parking was free. We really enjoyed our stay there.

Sneaky way to start charging for parking in a non secure parking lot, next to homeless camps down the street. If the lot was secured or in a big city, I can understand the parking charge but not Santa Maria. Canceled my stay, decided to stay at a Hilton property south of Santa Maria
