Pros: 1) Wonderful front desk staff - maybe the best ever - super kind, super fast, super great 2) Great location - in the center of it all - only 5 minutes to downtown 3) Wonderful room and great beds So why 3 stars? Cons 1) Screaming uncontrollable kids 2) Screaming uncontrollable kids 3) Screaming uncontrollable kids You wonder why parent-breeders refuse to discipline their children and think it's ok for their children to scream. It really wears you out and makes you not want to travel.
We went all out for this trip - booked the 2 Queen Suite (with fold out couch-bed) with a balcony facing the bay. It was entirely worth it, and honestly, our two night stay wasn't long enough. Our receptionist upon check-in (Jacob) was a stellar example of a human being, and the epitome of customer service. Luggage carriers provided in the lobby made entry and exit much easier. My husband and I spent our anniversary at the Hampton Inn Petoskey on June 24th. It was a terrible experience because there was a Roach in our room. My husband killed it, and we called the Hotel Manager, and she acted like it was no big deal. This totally ruined our Anniversary Trip! I could not sleep knowing roaches were there, so we cut our trip short and left. We were not reimbursed for the night we stayed. I rate this place a zero for customer service.
My best friend and I stayed here on June 27th and we were so impressed! The people at the front desk were so nice and the room was really neat and clean. The breakfast buffet was the best selection of food of any hotel we have ever stayed at! We are definitely staying here again. If you are visiting Petoskey and are looking for a great hotel, I would highly recommend this one!
