Disappointing Stay — Especially for the Price Unfortunately, our stay at the Hampton Inn Spearfish was very disappointing. Considering this is one of the busiest times of the year with the Sturgis Rally going on, we expected the hotel to be prepared for the number of guests—especially given the premium rates being charged. AC was not on long enough to cool the room during a 4 day 100° + heat wave. The hallway was cooler. The AC unit saturated the floor around it. The TV did not work and I was basically told there was nothing that can be done. One of the bathroom light fixtures was not functional leaving it dimly lit. The lobby and hallways are very nice and clean. If they only put that much care into the room. Breakfast was done well and the staff there seemed to be trying to do their best. Nice location in Spearfish.

Front office worker wasn't at desk for 5 minutes after arrival at 4 pm on a Sunday for check in. Then gave us a room on the top floor at the furthest end of hallway while being rude.
