I shouldn’t have checked in based solely on the cleanliness of the lobby and elevator. I asked specifically for a room that did not connect to another room, since I was given that option. Apparently, my preference was irrelevant, because I was given an adjoining room anyway. The TV didn't work. The bathroom smelled strongly of sewage and clearly needed a thorough cleaning. Just returned home from our stay here. And while the staff was friendly, the room certainly did not meet expectations. The most critical detail of the room was that the window had no screen and was able to be completely opened. We were on the 3rd floor. I believe that is not up to whatever safety or fire code requirement there is for hotels. It is a major fall risk. Also, the door to the bathroom/shower did not close properly. WARNING BED BUGS!!!!! EASILY THE WORST HILTON PROPERTY WE EVER STAYED AT. TRUST ME- SKIP THIS PLACE… -Upon arrival - our room had several carpet stains and the desk chair was also riddled with stains. Request to be moved to another room- front desk clerk refused. -HOUSEKEEPING NEVER BOTHERED TO CLEAN OUR ROOM- NOT ONCE! Actually, a lot more up to date than many aging Hampton Inn Hotels. Location is close to Turnpike, about an hour away from the Eastside of Chicago and close to ND College, if you're a miserable Irish fan. Go Buckeyes!!!
