Seven months ago we booked two nights in October for part of a family road trip. We received a confirmation from Hampton Inn the day before we arrived confirming that they were looking forward to seeing us the next day. I've stayed at this location 16 times over the last 12 months (I travel to this area for business frequently) and ~25 times over the past 2 years. I had a case of bed bugs in May (room 200). Because there is not a large pool of hotels to choose from in the area and this location perceived as one of, if not the best in the town, I marked that as a "one off" event. Hampton in Keokuk, IA does not live up to their posted statement at check in that "any team member can help the customer be happy, guaranteed ". Untrue, and not to be trusted. The front desk would not honor our confirmed reservation because their payment system was not working, and they could not accept any form of payment.
