The Hampton Inn located at 4 Sturgis Corner Drive was a very nice hotel but the process to book the hotel was a nightmare. My wife was a patient at the University of Iowa Hospitals so I called what seemed was a local number to book a room but was directed to a call center in India. They had no idea where Iowa was and never heard of the hospital. I was put on hold for about 10 minutes and then was quoted a price $30 dollars higher than the rate listed on a U o I hotel sheet. Disgusting If I could give this hotel 0 stars it would be too much. I went through Expedia to book this room because going directly through the hotel to book was doubled in price for this weekend (football game weekend) and everywhere was booked or astronomically over priced. I booked it based off rating and price. Why people rated this dumpster 5⭐️ is beyond me. When we first checked in the clerk was pleasant. Clean rooms, free breakfast was nice, clean and well maintained with lots of choices. Check in staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Would stay again.
Great location…easy walking distance to campus and games!!
