If you're going to the ballpark, it's hard to beat the location. Breakfast, which had good choices, was included in the room price. Service wasn't great as we had to call multiple times for clean towels and Klennex.

It would be 5 stars but I didn’t have any real coffee in my room, only decaf the fridge froze all my drinks, bathroom sink tap was a dribble and the app based checkout didn’t work. It’s the small things that make me a little bitchy. That said the service was great. My booking got messed up by a work colleague and the front desk fixed the error and got me into the room ahead of check in. 10/10 for fast and humble service. Staff at the hotel are amazing, I stayed over a week and they were so friendly and helpful, I felt right at home. Special shout outs to Jesse the valet for finding me taxis to drop me off and bring me back to the hotel, stress free travelling, much appreciated. And to the restaurant/bar staff, always friendly and ready to help, no matter how busy or quiet it was. The hotel itself is great but the people made all the difference.

My wife and I stayed two nights. The first night we ordered a shrimp quesadilla plate and a shrimp taco plate along with two beers at the in-house grill to take to our room. The second night we took two beers from the grill to our room. After we got home our credit card billed showed we were billed $157.00 from the grill. I have placed three calls to the Hampton Downtown for an explanation but each time I have been told that the person I must talk to is unavailable. I have not received a callback in over a week.
