We love Fairhope AL. We have stayed here at this hotel many times. I'm not sure where to start with this review......I was blown away by the poor condition of this hotel on our last stay 2 days ago. The furniture in our room looked like it belonged in the dumpster! The desk chair was stained so badly I put a towel down before I sat on it. The other chair was stained also. Great location and service by the friendly staff, but this property is dated and tired with several key pieces of equipment - elevator and card readers - completely out of service or working only sporadically. It’s time for the owners to make a significant investment for what is expected of the Hilton/Hampton Inn flag!
Location is 5 star, walk everywhere, no problem. Breakfast was 5 star, hot dishes rotated every morning, cold items were plentiful. Hotel needs a reno, clean but very dated!
When we first arrived late afternoon the room smelled musty and they had sprayed deodorizer to somewhat mask the smell. We attributed the smell to it being an older hotel but this morning it reeks of dog. Upon further inspection this morning we saw that they put us in a room that had a dog in it previously. The carpet wasn’t vacuumed so there is dog food and dirt everywhere on the carpet in addition to dog slobber and other unidentifiable substances on the walls. Totally inexcusable. I can’t believe we’re paying for this.
