I recently stayed at the Hampton Inn in Barring and overall the experience was just okay. The hotel itself was acceptable, clean enough, and the staff initially seemed polite. However, the issue came at checkout and it completely changed my impression. I overslept slightly and checked out just 24 minutes late and was charged nearly $30 in additional fees. The room was clean and comfortable, and the property overall was well maintained. Breakfast was pretty decent too. However, the reception staff were very strict about the check‑in time and didn’t allow even a 30‑minute early check‑in, which made the arrival experience feel less welcoming. A firm ‘no’ on such a simple request comes across as unnecessarily inflexible and really sets the tone for the stay. We stay here while visiting family. Its in a good location, with markets and restaurants close by.
