Tried this place and will be the last. I order raw oysters all week at different places. The ones that were severed were warm and 7 of the 12 were bad. They stunk. Even my 12 year old said when they put them in front me. Dad those really stink. She was right. Those kind of things put people in the hospital. Wife ordered the shrimp trio. 8 shrimp total and they were not good at all. $23 for 8 shrimp. This is the only bad experience we had in our 7 days. I will give this a bad review. Tasted like the food was straight out of the microwave.
Awesome, is what I originally thought. Great atmosphere besides the crowd and occasional rowdiness from others. Our party of 8 had Robby as our server. We identified his true admiration and dedication in doing his job. Awesome service from him! I had the bourbon street pasta with a side of gumbo and side salad. The salad deserves respect as does the flavouful, spicy, but tame pasta dish. The true treasure of this restaurant I believe is their famous gumbo. " Good but not awesome." Still, I've only eaten here once... So far!
I had baked oysters. They were very dry and had so much cheese it overwhelmed the oyster... 2 of my party ordered soup instead of salad, soup is an up charge. It came after they got their meal. My sister's grouper sandwich wasn't done. The grouper was spungie and under cooked. The manager compensated us monetarily but still..
We loved it. Gumbo was AMAZING. Wish the fella had sang a bit longer but we got there late. Last minute choice turned out pretty great!
The sever was sweet but did not bring the glass of beer my husband ordered in a frosted mug... and the beer was warm and Not good at all...I'm sorry but at $4.00 per regular glass?! Yes it SHOULD have been very cold not Luke warm. The food was fine.

First time eating at Hammerhead Fred's. Loved it! Everything was delicious and very filling. Our waiter was super friendly and gave us great service. Will definitely be going back in the future. �
