I wasn't going to bother with this but the more I think about it the more upset I get. My family member wasn't even there 24 hours before passing. I've been through hospice before unfortunately but the way this was handled is outrageous. I have to live with the memory of the things the nurses did and said during those last moments. I can’t thank this hospice team enough for the compassionate and dignified care they provided to my uncle in his final days. When my mom was in the hospital and the doctor mentioned Hospice, I looked up "Hospice" on google and called the first one (not Halifax). I didn't pay attention to the Hospice choices I had. Weeks later, when I was talking with a friend whose mom was also under Hospice care with in the area, we compared Hospice experiences. She was with Halifax and was getting much better care. I can’t say enough to express my gratitude to the staff at Halifax for the loving care the provided my wonderful father the last few days of his life. From the Veterans pinning ceremony, to the volunteers and round the clock care, I could not have asked for better care for my Dad. Thank you for allowing my dad to rest without pain and pass in peace. There is a place in heaven for each and every one of you.
